St Andrews ’s PCC has the responsibility of co-operating with the Parish Priest in promoting, in the ecclesiastical Parish, the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, social and ecumenical. It also has maintenance responsibilities for the church and churchyard of St Andrew’s.
The method and appointment of PCC members is set out in the Church Representation Rules and all Church attendees are encouraged to register on the Electoral Roll and to stand for election to the PCC.
PCC members are:
Chairman – Revd. David Roche
Churchwardens – Mrs Ann Orr (Secretary) & Mrs Fenella Williams
Elected members – Mr Edward Beasley, Mrs Denise Bradley, Mr Ian Bradley, Mr Charles Ekins, Mrs Hannah Oakley, Mrs Jo Brunwin
Treasurer – Mrs Julia Mattison
The Standing Committee is the only committee required by law and is composed of the Vicar, two Churchwardens, the Secretary and the Treasurer.
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting was held in St. Andrew’s church on Sunday, 28th April 2024. Fenella Williams and Ann Orr were re-elected as Church Wardens.
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting received the annual report of Church Activities and finances.
The PCC is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at St. Andrew’s church, and with the Incumbent and Assistant Priests offers a range of services designed to appeal to both established and traditional churchgoers and those at the fringes of religion. We have worked hard to build communication with as many villagers as possible to let them know what is going on and that they are welcome at any and every church event.
Working in conjunction with local parents, activities for children at Sunday school are offered once a month. There have been an increasing number of lay-led services which have been well received.
The annual Pets Service, Songs of Praise services, Carol Service and Nativity at the Pavilion, Christmas Day, Easter Sunday and Remembrance Sunday proved popular. A Harvest supper was held and St. Andrew’s Reels event was well attended.
The electoral roll is the membership list of the Church. It is revised every year just prior to the APCM and once every 6 years the entire membership list is deleted and everyone has to re-apply. Only members of the electoral roll are permitted to attend and vote at the APCM. You can join the electoral roll at our Churches by completing a form at our church.
